For about the last nine months to a year, I have been having ongoing problems with Exchange 2010 OWA with SP3 not showing attachments on outgoing emails. Even though the attachments would still get delivered, the location where the attachments would normally show up had completely disappeared and you couldn’t remove items after attaching them. I can personally vouch that this issue affected IE8, IE10, IE11 on PC and Google Chrome on MAC. As for Firefox or Safari, I can’t really remember whether they were affected or not and since it’s already fixed I have no way of testing it.
It appears that sometime within the last couple of months, the issue has been resolved. Although I don’t know the exact update or combination of updates that fixed the issue and none of the titles of the KB articles really sound relevant to the problem, I do know that doing the following fixed my issues:
- Install Update Rollup 6 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3. At the time of this writing, Update Rollup 7 just came out so basically just make sure your Exchange Server is fully up to date with all of the latest Service Packs and Update Rollups.
- Install all of the latest updates for Internet Explorer with Windows Update.
- Install the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight. (PC or MAC)
As a side note, I read a few other articles that claimed that putting Internet Explorer in Compatibility View for the Exchange server helped but that did not make any bit of difference in my setup.
