If you’re reading this, then you’re not alone. Both the x86 and x64 versions of Firefox 51.0.1 run slow as dog shit and bog the rest of my otherwise fast as hell computer down on a brand new install of Windows. It seems to happen when I’ve got lots of tabs open simultaneously for any length of time, which is always.
When dealing with IT work, it is not uncommon for me to have 20+ tabs open at a time and even 2 or 3 instances with that many tabs going at any one time. If you work in this field, you know exactly what I mean when I talk about running down rabbit holes to sift through the crap shoot we call the internet and having to deal with these giant douchey scumbag search engines like Google and Bing on the daily with their skewed/manipulated view of the web that you get.
I swear to great lord almighty that they deliberately prioritize these fucking basic cookie cutter tech blogs with general answers and tutorials on doing the most basic shit over the real results of what should actually come up on the exact terms I am searching for. You literally have to sort through dozens and dozens of pages of bullshit answers to find anything, especially in cases where you want to search for something specifically that deals with the Windows registry. Look assholes, if I wanted those moronic tutorial pages, I sure as hell wouldn’t have specified the word registry and even put the whole search string in quotes. Now that I’m thinking about it, I am willing to bet that Google probably prioritizes it’s own results with their own customers that have Google Ad Words just to get more clicks and to make more profit. Those devious bastards!
It’s time to boycott these authoritarian ass clowns especially when they are openly censoring just about everyone and everything, I am so sick of it. Anybody that would like to start an open dialog about coming up with ideas on how to create a free, open, and completely unbiased search engine, get ahold of me. Hell, I don’t even know if it’s possible, that’s what a search engine does; sort and prioritize results, but there’s got to be something, some sort of system based on user ratings and other criteria. The freedom of the internet depends on it.
I also failed to mention, rolling back to version 50.1.0 and disabling auto update in about:config for the time being worked great.
I just wanted to make one follow up comment about this issue. The very next day after I posted this, the start page on Firefox said something to the tune of having too many tabs open being a problem as if the issue was my fault as the end user. Watch your words carefully Mozilla, this isn’t the first time your stupid little “quirky” comments rub me the wrong way. I seriously hope that the time they said something like “Never read the comments.” was them trying to use reverse psychology, otherwise no more donations from this guy.
